What’s shipped. What’s coming. What we’re still figuring out.

Readablog is real software being built in real time, not a glossy launch. Here’s where we are.

Shipped today

  • The WOTF binary specification, documented and versioned.
  • A working iOS and Android app with the full WordPress.com Reader experience.
  • OAuth (PKCE) sign-in.
  • Smart Profile authoring (abstract plus topic chips).
  • Smart Feed ranked stream with per-card sentiment signal.
  • Local-first user model storage with field-by-field updates.
  • Three new wpcom REST endpoints with strict validation and server-side checksum enforcement.

Coming next

  • A public, canonical home for the WOTF spec.
  • On-device synthesis of interest strands, so the model is generated locally as well as stored locally.
  • Cross-service WOTF export, so your model can travel beyond Readablog.
  • More signal sources beyond the user-written abstract (subscriptions, activity).

What we’re still figuring out

We don’t yet know how WOTF should travel between services. We don’t yet know the right adoption model for third-party implementers. We’d like to hear from anyone building in this space.
